Madison Square Garden,NYC-(SatireWorld.com)Rocker Billy Idol opened his comeback concert tonight with two rocking hits that made the aging 80's star such a big hit twenty some years ago. The songs 'Rebel Yell’ and ‘White Wedding' brought cheering and singing fans to their feet as the 35,000 plus fans sang the songs along with Idol during the first act.
The popular Madison Square Garden venue, was also played by Idol before, back in 1972, where fame and fortune soon followed. His career spanned through the 80s and into the 90s.
Idol’s age began to show after his 25th forced facial sneer of the night caused the platinum blonde and spiked-hair Idol to take more frequent breaks to sip on flavored water and to toke frequently on asthma inhalers as the dizzying pace of the show was starting to show on the obviously overweight singer.
As he started his fourth song from his 2011 comeback album, 'Happy Billy Idol Holidays,' the crowd groaned in despair as he tried to lift the audience’s spirits with a rousing rendition of a holiday favorite 'Rudoplh the Red Nosed Reindeer.' While turning quickly to sneer at a close-up camera, Idol’s spiked-hair toupee flew off and exposed his milky-white bald head to the camera. There was a stunned silence from the audience.
Fans cheering quickly waned to a dull mutter as most began leaving the show early after an attempt at regained dignity left the embarrassed Idol trying to plaster down the cheap toupee with cellophane tape.
In other entertainment news, swarmy British singers, ‘A Flock Of Seagulls’ announced a comeback concert with a scheduled appearance at the Hollywood Bowl along with a guest appearance by the Muppets.
