Congressman Barney Frank (D-Ass) has caused controversy and jealousy in the entertainment world with his hiring of Adam Lambert to perform at his upcoming wedding reception. Other openly gay acts (Elton John and The Village People, for example) are upset that they were not asked first. The Construction Worker from the Village People said “we were famous 30 years before Adam. This is discrimination against us just because he is young and so pretty.”
Elton John said in a statement made by his press agent that “I am just so miffed by this obvious slight that I just can’t compose myself. I think I’m getting a case of the vapours! I might just have to go and watch some of our English football players in their shorty shorts for a while to get my mind off this great insult!”
Frank, who is marrying his plumber (which makes for a lot of jokes that won’t be used in this article), was reached at Timely Bridal Wear, where he was trying on dresses. “Performers like Elton John, Prince, Sinead O’Conner, The Little River Band, the late Freddie Mercury, Michael Stripe (from R.E.M.), Boy George, the late Michael Jackson, George Michael, Lance Bass (from N’Sync), Rob Halford (from Judas Priest), Clay Aiken, and The Village People have entertained me for years and years. It wasn’t my intent to hurt any of their feelings.”
“I am going to invite them all to my reception and maybe we can have a Woodstockish or Farm Aid type benefit concert to aid gay performers afterwards. We can call it A.I.D.S. Aid or something! Afterwards, we can all have a love-in at the Y.M.C.A. and pretend we are Macho Men and In the Navy.”
It should be noted that Frank’s dress is white lace with a train and a large veil (as a large veil is needed to hide his fat mouth and swelled head).
