...'sing it like you mean it'

…’sing it like you mean it’

It was a magical moment during an otherwise contentious second presidential debate. Having just exchanged verbal blows over whether each candidate was fit to serve as president or not, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton broke into song in what pundits are calling “the first debate duet in political history.”

As Hillary prepared to answer a follow-up question from moderator Anderson Cooper, she instead launched into song, singing the opening line from the 70’s hit “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers.”

“You don’t bring me flowers…You don’t sing me love songs…” Mrs. Clinton sang. “You hardly talk to me anymore, when I come through the door at the end of the day…” Trump answered, without missing a beat. The audience erupted in applause, much to the chagrin of the debate moderators.

Both candidates had surprisingly solid vocals as the two walked the stage, belting out the tune. As the camera panned the crowd, a single tear streamed down the cheek of a stoic President Bill Clinton.

The duet caught debate producers off guard at the time, but they seem fine with it now. The song will be available on iTunes tomorrow morning.

    Good one EW!

I would have expected Hillary to sing “You ain’t nothin but a hound dog” by Elvis Presley!
