In another classic example of ‘do-as-I-say,but not-as-I-do New York’s anti-gun mayor makes sure he’s well protected when abroad. A recent example is Bloomberg’s weekend get-a-ways to his lavish Burmuda retreat where armed NYC police are part of his entourage in violation of Burmuda’s strict no-gun policy.
Yes, the mayor also takes along a police detail when he travels, flying two officers on his private plane and paying as much as $400 a night to put them up at a hotel near his waterfront house; the city pays their wages while they are there, as it does whether Mr. Bloomberg is New York or not. Guns are largely forbidden in Bermuda — even most police officers do not use them — but the mayor’s guards have ‘special permission’ to carry weapons. A spokesman for the Police Department declined to comment.
The Mayor’s recent funding of a $12 million ad campaign that targets legitimate gun owners in America with a rather unconvincing ad showing a supposed ‘rural hunter’ proclaiming his support for anti-gun ownership as proposed by numerous liberal Senators and Congressmen, and the Mayor of course.
The poorly made ad shows a ‘typical hunter’ seated holding a shotgun and talking about how background checks would make him feel safer, even though he’s breaking gun safety rules by holding the gun horizontal while children play nearby…Has his finger on the trigger…And the shotgun’s action is closed, not open to show an empty chamber!
It can only further the idea that politicians are hypocrites and feel that massive amounts of money, like the shotgun in the ad, are aimed at removing liberties just to satisfy some hidden agenda.
Stick with governing the morons that voted you into power Bloomberg. Maybe they enjoy having you tell them what to eat or drink or think, but the rest of American believe you’re a righteous asshole and we’ll choose liberty!
