Washington D. C. – (satireworld.com)
Über liberal and one of the architects of Obamacare, Ezekiel Emanuel, has decided to die at the age of 75 if he lives that long. His reason? Life isn’t really worth living beyond that age and you are starting to become a drag on society by that age as well. The good news – he has decided to bless us with his knowledge and wisdom for only another 18 years or so. The bad news? He will not adhere to his self-imposed death date if he is still alive.
The issue is a classic one for many liberals, many of whom like to call themselves “progressives” these days because they don’t like the term liberal and, besides, doesn’t progressive sound more intellectual anyway? No, the issue is that Emanuel doesn’t want to impose 75 as an accepted age of death for himself, he just wants to set it for you.
On almost any issue, liberals have one set of rules for themselves (whatever they want to do) and another set for everybody else (and you better abide by THOSE rules or there’s going to be trouble!) Whether it be global warming, abortion, deciding what people should eat, the healthcare they should receive, who gets taxed at what rate, etc., the mantra is the same: “One rule for thee, another one for me.”
If Emanuel has been blessed with good health and is of sound mind at the age of 75, he will simply adjust his wished for age of demise to 80 or 85. But it will stay the same for everybody else. And, if he gets his way, the age of 75 will be determined to be mandatory for others by then. The rule won’t be mandatory for he and his fellow elitists, of course. Their lives are more valuable and the world needs them, and their brilliance, more than the rest of us.
Just as it has been throughout history, it should be up to God and/or an individuals spirit and desire to live that should determine when each of us leaves this world, not some government edict. It’s about freedom. When I hear someone make remarks like Emanuel recently made, it makes me think that person isn’t right in the head and is missing something about the human experience. Maybe he should consider checking out early himself and let the rest of us decide for ourselves.
