Queen Elizabeth announced to her family and staff that in the future all hats worn to official functions will be closely examined and subject to rejection and dismissal. The edict came on the heels of media scrutiny and outrage over the ‘headress’ Princess Beatrice wore to the royal wedding held at Westminster Abbey on April 29th. The hat was the result of a collaboration between Princess Beatrice and the hat’s designer in order to design and manufacture a truly unique double-duty hat.
Further examination of photos by Scotland Yard’s investigators showed evidence that Princess Beatrice’s hat really was an antenna that was cleverly built into her headware. The hat’s designer, Bristol Antenna and Cable Works, claims the hat can receive signals from as far away as the planet Mars and at certain times of the year can receive transmissions from the orbiting space station.
A spokesman for the princess claims Beatrice was listening to some pop tunes through her ipod and really meant no harm. Critics of the Queen reminded those who criticized the young princess that the Queen herself wore a similar hat during WWII. The Queen’s ‘Radar Hat’ is credited with warning wartime anti-aircraft gunners that a flight of German bombers were attempting to sneak over Dover and lay a deadly trail of bombs.
