Queen Elizabeth II admitted in a candid interview that the only reason Great Britain came to the rescue of the Falkland Islands in the 1982 war was for the sheep. In that war, Argentina claimed ownership of the small, sparsely inhabited island chain and England won the islands back in a few short battles.

“We didn’t really need those islands for the land; they are too far away to contribute significantly to our economy, and the islands are not a strategic location militarily. Prince Phillip and a lot of the boys, however, felt that they needed to save the sheep.”

The sheep outnumber the humans by a large number on the island chain and are the major contributing factor to the economy.

“Falkland Islands’ wool is highly prized among the men of this country. They find it to be finer and softer and gentler than your average wool. They say that it also has a tighter weave and is more comfortable against the skin. Overall, men tell me that it just fits and feels better than your average wool.”

“The growing number of Moslems in this country confirm this, saying that Falkland Islands’ sheep are better than any they have in the middle east and that their wool keeps you warmer at night.”

“We have also been told that it makes nicer sweaters, coats, and blankets.”
