Footballer Gary Speed Was At The End Of His Rope Say Friends

Gary Speed, the Welshman with the magic foot, was found hanged at his Huntington Hall home. The cause according to local officials was a suspected love triangle gone wrong. “Gary was figuratively at the end of his rope over this,” said Constable Angus MacCloud.

Rumors have been swirling ever since the Leeds United manager was mentioned in an off-beat book about Dorking, England where it was rumored he spent days in an illicit love triangle with one of the writers. According to co-writer Cary Hoadley, “It wasn’t me mate! It was that twit Stuart! Yes, he’s the one!” Officials from the Coroner’s office are looking into that angle.

Officials at the Welsh Football Association promised to support the family and offer them a ‘shoulder to cry on’ in the coming weeks.

Chief executive Jonathan Ford said: “I’ve no understanding of why it happened, I don’t know the answer and I don’t think we ever will.”

Reportedly, the Coroner’s office listed suicide by hanging as the official cause of death since Speed was found dangling from a rope tied to a rafter and all doors were locked from the inside.
