The Iranian frigate IS Sahand shows it stuff after tangling with just two aged A-6 Intruder aircraft in the Persian Gulf. What further infuriated the Iranian Navy was the discovery the two US carrier jets were flown by two women Navy pilots. The Sahand was sent to the bottom.

Iranian naval chief Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyar took to the Iranian airwaves and declared that it wasn’t fair to have foreign vessels patroling so near the territorial waters of the Iran, and since Iran possesed a larger, more modern fleet of ships than Britain, it deserved more respect.

The Rear admiral, who earned that name from his time at an Iranian boy’s school, claimed in a rather boring 7 hour speech that Iranian warships will be patrolling along the US borders in the near future.

According to Rear Admiral Sayyar, “Like the arrogant powers that are present near our marine borders, we will also have a powerful presence close to American marine borders.”

American Admirals generally liked the idea and many said the Iranian plan helped with our own future strategic planning
concerning cost and manpower savings.

According to Admiral Chester Nimitz, “We relish the thought of those Iranian ships being so close to any one of our 11 carrier strike groups. It could save the US Navy millions of dollars in fuel, and countles man hours of travel, having them so close to us for use as target practice.”

The US currently has 11 aircraft carrier strike groups. Each battle group generally contains one Nimitz-class aircraft carrier withn up to 85 top-line aircraft, Ticonderoga-class cruisers, a squadron of Arleigh-Burke destroyers, frigates, and at least one nuclear Los Angeles attack class submarine. Other ships with-in the strike force are supply and replenishment ships.

One Naval expert added, “Those Iranian boys really don’t want to get into a tail-pulling contest with our fine sailors and Marines. One carrier strike force has more firepower than the Iranian’s entire armed services.”
