Sociologists Determine Barack Obama and the Liberal Media Define the Liberty Valance Principle

Looking to the mainstream media, director John Ford asks “What is truth?” in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance–but unlike the liberal media, Ford waits for an answer.
In the film “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance,” Jimmy Stewart’s character is told “when the legend becomes fact, print the legend.” Sociologists have determined that the syndrome that currently afflicts the Liberal Media in relation to Barack Obama is not simply worship, adulation, or pandering, it is The Liberty Valance Principle.
Dr. Sigmund Locke of the University of Idaho said that “Spin doctors have created a mythos or legend about Barack Obama that liberals and members of the media have bought into. In this mythology, he is their Zeus or Odin or Ra or Rama or Jupiter. He is their Superman who will save them from the situation that they have put themselves into.”
“Never mind that the God figure considers mere mortals to be lesser beings and that the God figure does not really care for their welfare. Never mind that this King will merely give them bread and circuses to keep them happy. Never mind that those who actually work and accept personal and live by moral and ethical codes and responsibility are becoming disenfranchised by government.”
“The majority have bought into the legend and have turned it into fact. They believe that the Obama stimulus plans where billions were given to several solar energy companies who all went bankrupt was Bush’s fault. They believe that 3 1/2 years of increasing jobless rates are the fault of the Republican House of Representatives (put in office 18 months ago) fighting against the Obama plan. They believe that the public dissatisfaction with the Obama Health Care Plan is the fault of FoxNews. The entitlement class sees themselves as deserving of more and more free Obama money in exchange for their continued adulation and adoration and virtual worship.”
“They (the media) have created a legend, made that legend into fact, and only print the legend in their newspapers and magazines and only promote it on their television networks. They decry those who disagree as being racist and anti-progressive and stuck in reverse. They have blinded themselves so that they cannot see that their own facts are not really facts and are not the truth.”
