Sources close to the investigation say a second ‘person-of-interest’ has been detained and questioned. The male, who appears to be a 50-something year old, was stopped several blocks from the crime scene. He was acting suspiciously according to special agent Brent Halliday of the Boston FBI office.
Halliday showed a surveilance video of the subject as he was walking away from the Marathon area wearing what officials called, ‘crazy clothes.’ The video shot from a police scanning pole shows an individual wearing a sequined ‘wife beater’ tee with pink and black striped daisy duke shorts.
The intial search of the suspect found a ‘heavily used fondue pot’ in his gym bag. It was tested for powder residue and the results were negative.
“We know there’s all kinds of wierd people who walk down Boston streets, but this one dfeserved to be stopped because he looked like he was up to something,” said Halliday, “he’ll be questioned, fingerprinted, and released if his story checks out.”
