It was just announced in Hollywood that Tommy Chong (of Cheech and Chong) is going to be one of the celebrities on the next season of “Dancing With The Stars.” On this show, “B” list celebrities, former reality show stars, and former athletes are paired with professional dancers in a dance competition.
At first, Chong was worried that he might be in trouble if the show drug tested the participants. He then learned that he was okay staying with his daily weed intake as marijuana is not considered a “performance enhancing drug.”
He also feels that he will give new meaning on the show to “getting high” scores.
The first piece of music that Chong will dance to on the show is the theme song by Rita Coolidge to 1983’s James Bond film “Octopussy.” His assigned partner, Allison Harris, said that “Tommy is really comfortable dancing to this piece. He said that Rita’s “All Time High” is one of his favorite songs.”
The second competition episode will feature Chong dancing to Ian Drury and the Blockhead’s hit “Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll.”
The third dance by Chong will be more lighthearted as he dances to the famous Peter, Paul, and Mary hit “Puff the Magic Dragon.”
Despite requests from Chong, taping of the show will not relocate to Colorado (to give the show a real “Rocky Mountain High”) or Washington. It aso will not combine with any cooking shows and be renamed “Dancing with the Half Baked Stars.”
There is no word on whether or not Sister Mary Elephant will show up as a guest judge on any of the episodes.
